Soooo what's the difference anyway?!?

If you’re interested in getting your eyebrows done, but like many others, have no idea what the difference is between microblading and powder brows…. look no further!

Microblading is the original method created to enhance your brows. This method is always done manually with a small (mirco) blade made up of tiny needles.

Microblading

This blade is used to create tiny (hair like) strokes into the upper layer of skin. Pigment is then inserted into the tiny cuts to create a natural hair look.

This method is best for someone with normal to dry skin. It is also only recommended to anyone who has not had previous permanent makeup done.

Microblading typically lasts 6-18 months depending on your skin, aftercare and your lifestyle.

Powder brows can be done manually or with a permanent makeup machine. The difference is all in the technique….. powder brows are done similar to a traditional tattoo (only semi-permanent).

Powder Brows

The machine and manual tool use small needles to insert tiny dots of pigment, it gradually builds up the colour and shape to create more of a filled in (makeup) appearance.

Both methods are done with the same depth but…... because the powder brow technique is different the skin holds the pigment much better and tends to hold much longer.

Powder brows are recommended for all skin types and especially for anyone with oily skin, as microblading doesn’t always hold as well.

Powder brows typically last 1-3 years….again, depending on your skin, aftercare and your lifestyle.
